Registration

  • How can I register? Is there a deadline to submit my registration?
  • You can register online on the OGP Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting website. The deadline to submit your registration is 15 October 2018. After registering, you will receive a copy of the information you provided, but not a customized confirmation email.

  •
  • I am a member of the media. Is there a separate registration form?
  • Members of the media can use the main registration form on the OGP Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting website. If you miss the deadline of 15 October 2018, please contact ogpkorea2018@opengovpartnership.org.

  • Will there be on-site registration?
  • On-site registration will be available on a first come, first served basis until the venue capacity has been met. Therefore we encourage all attendees to register by 15 October 2018, to avoid wait times or the possibility of being denied entry due to capacity reasons.

  • Will I need to register separately to attend Civil Society Day?
  • No. All registered attendees who are members of Civil Society will be invited to attend CSO day. Please note that only members of civil society are eligible to participate in CSO Day.

  • Will I need to register separately to attend POC Day?
  • No. Only OGP Government Points of Contact will be invited to attend POC Day. They will be notified directly about the agenda and with other information.

  •
  • How can I register for the thematic workshops on 5 November?
  • Note that these workshops are invite-only side events.

  • If my country of origin is not an OGP member country, am I allowed to register for the OGP Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting?
  • Yes, non-OGP countries are allowed to register for the Regional Meeting, but visa support will not be available outside of the Asia-Pacific region.

  • Why was my registration/participation declined?
  • Due to limited venue capacity and overwhelming interest in the event, registration and visa support are being prioritized for: all participants from the Asia-Pacific region; speakers, facilitators, moderators, and sessions organisers from beyond the region; and participants with active engagement with OGP stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region. As a result, we are unable to provide registration confirmations and visa assistance for registrants who do not meet this criteria.

  • Visa Support and Travel Support

  • Do I need a visa to enter the Republic of Korea?
  • Please explore the Korea Visa Portal on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and check with the Korean Embassy or Consular Office in your country for visa requirements.

  • If I do need a visa to travel to the Republic of Korea, who will provide the invitation letter required to obtain my visa?
  • For those who require and have requested invitation letters for visa applications, the Government of the Republic of Korea is issuing these within a few days of your registration.

  • What are the criteria used to assign travel support/scholarships?
  • A limited amount of travel scholarships were available to support the participation of civil society from the Asia-Pacific region that are coming from an OGP member country. Unfortunately, the OGP does not have the funds to support the travel of government or civil society from non-OGP countries and those outside of the Asia-Pacific Region. The deadline to register and request travel support was 14 September 2018.

  •
  • If I have been invited as a speaker or moderator for the Regional Meeting, am I eligible to receive travel support/scholarships?
  • Travel Support is available on a limited basis and not guaranteed for all speakers and moderators. Those selected for travel support will be notified directly.

  • Agenda and Session Content

  • Where can I find the agenda for the Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting?
  • The detailed agenda with speakers, room assignments, etc. has been released at ogpkorea.sched.com. For the latest updates, please also download the OGP Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting Sched app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  •
  • What are the themes for the Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting?
  • The three themes for the Regional Meeting are: promoting participatory democracy; improving governance for a better life for all; and renewing trust through government innovation.

  •
  • How can I contribute to the agenda? How will sessions and speakers be selected?
  • An open call for ideas was held in August 2018 and the deadline has now passed. Members of the community were invited to propose their ideas for topics, speakers and sessions that address the themes for the Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting. An Editorial Committee comprised of government and civil society representatives from the Republic of Korea and the OGP Support Unit has curated the agenda based on the inputs received. If your proposal was accepted, the Editorial Committee will contact you directly to inform you of their decision and work with you to incorporate your suggestions for topics or sessions into the agenda.

  • Will I still need to register for the Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting if I submitted a proposal for the Call for Ideas?
  • Yes, you will still need to register for the meeting.

  • Will sessions be livestreamed?
  • Sessions will not be livestreamed. However, some sessions will be recorded and shared on OGP’s YouTube page after the event concludes.

  • Will simultaneous translation be available?
  • The official language of OGP Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting 2018 is ENGLISH. Simultaneous English-Korean interpretation services will be provided at the opening ceremony, high-level plenary, and closing ceremony, as well as a few of the parallel sessions.
